Scuba Certification through Blue Line Scuba
Our certification process is self-paced, and you have one year to complete the entire course.
The first part of the course is online. It takes approximately 7 hours to complete, but you can start and stop as much as you like.
Once you have completed the online course, you will contact Carrie at One More Chance Scuba (OMCS) in order to get scheduled for your swimming pool session, where you will learn and practice all of the required skills for scuba diving. This generally takes place on a Saturday morning in one of the two training swimming pools that we use for scuba classes.
Once you have completed your skills assessment, you will complete 4 checkout / open water dives. These will be conducted in 2 sessions, one for Dives 1 & 2 and one for Dives 3 & 4. These generally take place at a private quarry located in Ravenel, SC, which is approximately 20 minutes from Charleston.
The entire process costs $549 (with discounts to all public safety and military personnel). This includes your online course, pool session, checkout dives, and use of all of the major equipment for diving (BCD, regulator, tanks etc.) You will need to purchase “personal” gear, which includes mask, snorkel, fins and dive boots. As a student of ours, you will receive an additional 15% off of our already discounted, brand new, brand name scuba diving gear.
We pride ourselves in making what could be an expensive sport very affordable. All of our gear is priced lower than any other dive shop, online dive gear seller, and even lower than Amazon. We have a wide range of equipment to choose from. Whether you’re a beginner, or an experienced Technical or Commercial diver, we have something for everyone.
Our instructors have a combined 45+ years experience, and some of them are current, or former law enforcement.
